A walking guide to Granada
In Granada, slopes matter as much as the number of stops. For a more contained route, use Plaza Nueva as a reference and consider walking beside the Darro towards Paseo de los Tristes. To climb into the Albaicín and San Nicolás viewpoint, allow extra time and match the effort to your pace. The viewpoint looks towards the Alhambra but does not replace a visit inside. With little time, avoid combining viewpoints across large changes in elevation. Walking estimates do not assess stairs or accessibility. Review the map and seek an adapted route if you need to avoid hills.
Choose an area to enjoy
In Granada, distinguish a central walk from a climb through the Albaicín. Pasiegas, Alcaicería and Bib-Rambla offer a compact proposal around the Cathedral. Plaza Nueva and Paseo de los Tristes suggest following the Darro. San Miguel Bajo and San Nicolás offer another experience with slopes. If views are the priority, save energy and time to reach them; do not add every viewpoint just because it is listed.
Make the most of your time
An hour on a square differs from an hour climbing. This website estimates distance without elevation: add a margin or remove stops for the Albaicín. Following the Darro to Paseo de los Tristes does not automatically include returning to Plaza Nueva. With more time, pause for the landscape, but an Alhambra visit needs separate booking and planning; it is not part of this walk.
